My post have been removed from this forum as I no longer seeing it as functioning for the good of the Deutsch Kurzhaar

We just discovered that a 3 hour drive gives us access to plenty of grouse. So, we bought 15 acres next to state land and have been enjoying grouse hunting. A bell comes in real handy. We used to guide but guiding has more cons then pros so we stopped, now we hunt up loose pheasants only on the preserve. We will be building a johnny house and releasing quail for next season. We turkey hunt and deer hunt. Our son hunts with us and our daughter will start hunting on the preserve next season.

I hunt Deer, Moose, Elk, Bear, Grouse, and any birds, upland and migratory game... Yet to shoot a pheasent, but the preserves would be great if they were not $700 for 20 pheasent!!! (no, there is no accomidation on site) and you have to be refered by a member to join and I don't know anyone. The local hunting club Accosiated Wildlife Preserve I may be able to get in there next year. they release pheasent and we can take out limit of 2 every day we are out and that is about 25 mins away.

Me and a friend are going to raise pheasent to bring them into the feild and train my dog. (and he is already raising ducks for his NS duck Tolling Retriver. Now all we have to do is trap some foxes, raccons and rabbits and we would be a NADKC supplier!

I hunt ducks about 10 mins away from my house, and geese about 30 mins away. Upland 2.5 hours away.

Hope you are a die hard hunter, I don't do well with slackers.LOL.
I'm out in all weather, even if we just hunt up an empty field in mud up to your knees. The land I hunt is a preserve and guess what? they have a shooting license during the off season, all 300+ acres are huntable all year.
